Characteristics

Leaf 100–400 mm long; free part 15–35 mm long, ending below flowers. Spike 15–50 mm long, 5–35-flowered. Flowers moderately crowded, nodding, 8 × 6 mm, dark purple (occasionally greenish) with darker stripes. Dorsal sepal 4 × 2 mm; margins with short gland-tipped hairs; apex sharply pointed. Lateral sepals divergent, 5 × 1.4 mm; base humped; apex blunt. Petals 3 × 1 mm; margins with short gland-tipped hairs; apex sharply pointed. Labellum stiffly hinged, ovate to obovate, 4 × 2 mm, thick, fleshy; margins with short gland-tipped hairs; apex sharply pointed. Callus oblong, constricted near middle, not extending to labellum apex.
