Coarse, bushy herb; upper parts of stems leafy, villous with spreading, gland-tipped hairs underlain by a unilateral band of fine, curly hairs. Leaves with laminas 30-60 mm in diam., suborbicular in outline, 5-7-lobed, roughly 2/3 to base; lobes ovate in outline, sharply lobed and toothed; upper surfaces pilose with glandular and eglandular hairs, more densely so below; petioles 30-100 mm long. Inflorescences opposite upper leaves, 2-flowered; peduncles 20-70 mm long; pedicels 10-45 mm long; indumentum as for stems. Sepals 9-11 x 3.5-4.5, glandular-pilose. Petals 15-12 x 12-14 mm, obovate, entire or shallowly notched, pink. Flowering time Sept.-Nov.
