Many-stemmed, perennial herb, 0.1-0.9 m high; rootstock thick and woody. Leaves with lamina up to 80 mm in diam., digitately 5-lobed more than halfway to base; lobes oblong-elliptic; scarcely pilose above, pilose below with long, spreading hairs covering veins; petioles 25-150 mm long. Inflorescences terminal and opposite upper leaves, cymes 2-flowered; peduncles 10-80 mm long; pedicels 10-45 mm long; indumentum including gland-tipped hairs but underlain by unilateral band of fine, curly hairs. Sepals 4.0-5.5 x 2-3 mm. Petals obovate, entire, pale pink with darker veins or white. Flowering time Oct.-Feb.
