Characteristics

A scandent plant with a small tuber. Stems simple, glabrous. Leaves about 13 cm long, 0.8 to 1.2 cm. broad, lanceolate, long attenuated into a tendril, glabrous. Flowers solitary in the axils of the leaves. Pedicels up to 1 x 5 cm long, terete, glabrous. Perianth campanulate, 2-2 cm long, glabrous; tube very short; lobes lanceolate, acuminate, acute, with a prominent mid-rib. Stamens inserted at the base of the perianth-tube; filaments 3 mm long, flattened, linear; anthers 5 mm long, oblong. Ovary 6 mm long, ellipsoid, glabrous; style 3 mm long, terete; lobes 1-5 mm long, linear.
