Characteristics

Compact, dwarf, succulent shrub, with 2 or 3 decumbent branches. Leaves mostly distichous, old one persisting for several years, margins sharp, surface grey. Flowers yellow. Fruit always persisting in the centre of the plant, held tightly by old leaves, top flattish, base spongy, locules 8(-10).
