Characteristics

Compact, dwarf, succulent shrub, up to 5-branched or more with age. Leaves several to many on a branch, distichous, margins mostly rounded, margins dotted from subhypodermal idioblasts, bright green. Flowers yellow. Fruit persisting in the centre of plant, held tightly by old leaves, tops high, base spongy, locules 7 or 8.
