Characteristics

Perennial herb. Leaves spathulate, clad in silvery tissue-paper indumentum. Heads subcorymbosely arranged, up to 4 mm long. Outer involucral bracts of mature heads glabrous on back. Pappus bristles, if present, either free at base or cohering lightly by patent cilia. Flowers: involucral bracts golden-brown, tips snow-white.
