Characteristics

Perennial herb or shrub, up to 2 m high, with fibrous roots and erect stems; young parts of stem, peduncles, pedicels and outside of corolla densely, white tomentose. Leaves with blade linear, 9-10 x as long as broad. Flowers: in several, racemosely arranged, nodding, 3-7-flowered umbels; corona lobes D-shaped, without teeth; corolla lobes reflexed, glabrous inside, white-cream-coloured or light yellow; Oct.-Jun. Fruit a follicle tapering gradually to a slender beak.
