Characteristics

Leaves paripinnate; stipules not seen, probably early caducous; petiole 12–15 mm long, glabrous; leaflets 1-jugate, 3.8–4.5 × 2.5–3 cm, broadly elliptic to broadly obovate, asymmetric, rounded or narrowed to the retuse apex, base cuneate, glabrous; venation slightly prominent on both surfaces, midrib dividing the blade in a ratio of c.2:1, areolae often with small raised dots (resin vesicles?).

Inflorescences terminal, paniculate; axis puberulous; bracts apparently early caducous; bracteoles c.2.5 × 2 mm, broadly ovate, cordate at base, puberulous, persisting at least to late bud stage.
Calyx lobes 4, c.4 × 2.5 mm, elliptic, tightly imbricate, minutely puberulous and with numerous resin vesicles outside, puberulous inside.
Ovary c.2 mm diameter, subcircular, 2-ovulate; stipe very short; style c.3 mm long, curled in bud; stigma capitate, bilobed.
Flower buds only seen, 4–4.5 mm long, ellipsoidal, spirally arranged on the axis; pedicel c.0.2 mm long.
Branchlets grey-brown, later grey, smooth with fine longitudinal cracks and lenticels, glabrous.
Stamens 10; anthers dorsifixed.
Pod and seeds not known.
