Characteristics

Annual herb, parasite. 0.1-0.3 m high; stem red to dusky purple, terete, glabrous proximally, villous towards tip. Leaves sessile, concave, elliptical, 4-11 x 2-4 mm, apex acute; pubescent to villous, hairs appressed or directed upwards. Inflorescence with 4-10 flowers. Bracts elliptical to oblanceolate, concave, villous, apex acute or obtuse. Calyx campanulate, externally pubescent to villous; lobes deltate. Corolla creamy white, pale pink or yellow, curved, dorsally keeled, externally villous, internally glabrous; limb bilabiate; lobes orbicular, ovate. Stamens didynamous, included, margins crenulate or lobulate; filaments puberulent-pubescent. Ovary ovoid; style incurved at tip; stigma globose, included. Flowering time Oct.-Jan.

Flowers: inflorescence racemose; calyx divided to 1/3 of its length or less, lobes deltate; corolla with tube 20-30 mm long, creamy white, pale pink or yellow, throat 18-25 mm wide, pink to purple; Oct.-Jan.
