Characteristics

Perennial, dwarfed herb, parasite, 0.03-0.12 m high; stems fleshy, distally rarely branching with hairs increasing in abundance toward the tip, villous. Leaves imbricate, base sessile, concave, elliptic to ovate, 4-6 x 2-6 mm, apex obtuse to acute; sparsely pubescent. Inflorescence a corymb, with 2-8 pink flowers. Bracts obovate to ovate, concave. Calyx 20-35 x 9-12 mm, bilabiate, externally villous, internally glabrous; lobes lanceolate. Corolla campanulate, glabrous; tube white to pale yellow, constricted above ovary; lobes ± equal. Stamens didynamous, inserted at point of corolla expansion; filaments puberulent at tip. Ovary ovoid; style incurved at tip, included; stigma globose. Flowering time Sept.-Jan.
