Characteristics

Annual or perennial herb, parasite, 0.05-0.35 m high; stem red, green or yellow, fleshy, glabrescent, viscid. Leaves concave, ovate to lanceolate, 5-21 x 2-5 mm, apex acute; hairs erect or directed upwards. Inflorescence terminal, with 2-12 light pink flowers. Bracts elliptical to lanceolate, villous, apex acute or subacute. Calyx campanulate to obconical at base, bilabiate, villous; lobes lanceolate, as long as tube. Corolla white yellow, with sulphur-yellow or pink limbs; tube curved, dorsally keeled; throat glabrescent, limb bilabiate; lobes ovate-obovate or lacerate, margins ciliate. Stamens slightly didynamous, inserted, included; filaments puberulent. Ovary spherical to broadly elliptical; style globose or oblong, down curved; stigma globose to oblong. Flowering time July-Nov.
