Leaf-blades elliptic, oblong-elliptic or sometimes slightly elliptic-oblanceolate, 5–15 cm. long, 2.5–6 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, cuneate to almost rounded at the base, hispidly hairy to glabrescent above, densely rather velvety hairy beneath but leaf-surface clearly visible under a lens; petiole 2–6 mm. long, densely hairy like the stems; stipules 0.6–1.3 cm. long, divided to near the base into 2 subulate attenuate lobes, pilose.. Flowers sweetly scented, mostly numerous in dense terminal cymose inflorescences; peduncle 1–2 cm. long, secondary branches 0.5–1 cm. long, pedicels very short, all densely hairy; bracts filiform..
