Trees 5-15 m tall. Branchlets apically brown pilosulose, glabrescent. Petiole 2-4.5 cm; leaf blade narrowly elliptic, oblong-lanceolate, or broadly lanceolate, 7-18 × 2-6 cm, leathery, glabrescent, base cuneate and somewhat decurrent into petiole, margin entire, apex acute to acuminate; midvein raised on both surfaces; secondary veins 6-11 on each side of midvein, slightly raised on both surfaces; reticulate veins adaxially conspicuous. Inflorescences axillary or ramiflorous, 15-20 cm, glabrous; bracts of flower pairs subulate, 1-3 mm; floral bracts ca. 0.5 mm. Pedicels free or basally connate. Perianth white, 1.6-2.5 cm. Anthers 2.5-3.5 mm. Hypogynous glands connate into a crenulate cup. Ovary glabrous. Fruit greenish black, ± globose, 1.5-2.5 cm in diam., apex apiculate; pericarp ca. 1 mm thick, leathery. Fl.
