Characteristics

Stems 7-60 cm, sparsely purple spotted, glabrous, simple, with 4-8 nodes. Petiole 1-10.5 cm; leaf blade elliptic to narrowly ovate or falcate, 3-18 X 1.8-8 cm, glabrous, base sometimes slightly oblique, cuneate to attenuate, margin nearly entire or weakly serrate to weakly dentate, apex acuminate, without sclereids; lateral veins 5-9 on each side of midrib. Cymes 7-20-or more flowered; peduncle 1-4.5 cm, glabrous; involucre 1.5-2 cm in diam., outside glabrous. Calyx 1-1.5 cm, 5-lobed from above middle; lobes equal, ovate, 3-3.5 X 2.5-3 mm, outside and margin glabrous. Corolla outside white, 1.5-1.8 cm, outside glabrous, inside with a ring of hairs; tube 1.1-1.2 cm; adaxial lip 4-4.5 mm; abaxial lip 5.5-6 mm. Anthers 1-2 mm; staminodes 2, 1-2.5 mm. Pistil ca. 9 mm, glabrous. Capsule ca. 1(-1.5) cm. Fl. Jun-Aug, fr. Sep-Nov.
