Characteristics

Tree, glabrous the inflorescences excepted. Leaves elliptic, attenuate at apex and base, subcoriaceous to coriaceous, shining; nerves prominent beneath, veins distinctly reticulate on both sides; petiole 5-7 mm. Panicles elongate, composed of several simple racemes from the uppermost axils, sometimes sustained by very reduced leaves, up to 12 cm long, ± densely hirsute-ciliate. Flowers 5-merous, white, fasciculate. Pedicels 2.5 mm. Bracts oblong-ovate, acute, 2 mm. Calyx-tube funnel-shaped, 2 mm. Sepals narrow-oblong, ciliate, 2 by 0.5 mm. Petals subspathulate, ciliate, 3 mm. Filaments pilose. Styles 4-5.
