Characteristics

Succulent vine to subshrub. Leaves succulent, fleshy or coriaceous; petiole to 2 cm long; lamina elliptic, oblong, narrowly ovate, ovate or orbicular, to 15 cm long, to 12 cm wide, cordate, rounded, obtuse or cuneate at base, acute to acuminate, apiculate, glabrous or with scattered to dense hairs; venation pinnate, not distinctly 3-veined from base; colleters present or absent. Inflorescence racemiform. Flowers 3–5 mm long, 10–25 mm diam.; pedicels 2–4 cm long. Corolla campanulate-rotate, fleshy, glabrous, cream, red under staminal corona; lobes ovate, 4–8 mm long, 4–6 mm wide. Staminal corona lobes obovoid, 1.2–3.5 mm long, 1–2.5 mm wide, concave above, with 2 longitudinal inrolled keels, cream. Pollinia with pellucid margins. Follicles fusiform, 9–13 cm long.
