Vine. Leaves with petiole 2–3.5 cm long; lamina ovate to lanceolate, to 20 cm long, to 8 cm wide, cordate at base, acute, glabrous; venation pinnate, not 3-veined from base; colleters 2–5. Inflorescence racemiform. Flowers 5.5–8 cm diam.; pedicels 5.4–8.5 cm long. Corolla flattened-campanulate, fleshy, glabrous, with white centre or entirely dark red-pink; lobes  narrowly oblong, 2–2.5 cm long, 1.9–2.3 cm wide, sharply acute with edges recurved, dark red-pink. Staminal corona lobes linear, 10–12 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, red-pink. Pollinia with pellucid margins. Follicles c. 25 cm long.
