Vine. Leaves with petiole 1–4 cm long; lamina ovate to oblong, to 13 cm long, to 7.5 cm wide, cordate to sharply truncate at base, mucronulate, glabrous or with scattered to dense hairs; venation pinnate, not 3-veined from base; colleters 2. Inflorescence umbelliform. Flowers 4–7 mm long, 35–55 mm diam.; pedicels 2–3.5 cm long. Corolla flattened-campanulate, fleshy, minutely puberulous or glabrous and shiny, red, brown, pink, yellow or cream; lobes oblong-truncate, 8–15 mm long, 12–17 mm wide, acute. Staminal corona lobes ovate, 3–5 mm long, 2.5–4 mm wide, broadly acute, usually yellow. Pollinia without pellucid margins. Follicles 14–16 cm long.
