Loosely caespitose annual; culms up to 12(17) cm tall, erect or geniculately ascending, very slender, usually branched from the lower nodes; leaf laminas 0.6–1.5 cm × (1)2–5 mm, linear-lanceolate, flat, becoming involute when dry, abruptly contracted at the base, acute at the apex.
