Rhizome filiform, wiry, glabrous or sparsely covered with ferrugineous hairs. Fronds 2–4 (–10, not in Australia) cm long. Stipe 1–2 (–5, not in Australia) cm long, unwinged. Lamina broadly oblong, deeply 2-pinnatifid, 10–20 (–65, not in Australia) mm long, 5–7 (–15, not in Australia) mm wide; rachis very narrowly winged in upper part only; secondary segments branching only from the acroscopic side of primary pinnae. Ultimate segments oblong, 1–4 mm long, 0.5–1 mm wide; margins toothed. Sori near frond apex, borne on short segment near base of pinna, solitary; involucre ovate to elliptic, bilabiate, divided to middle or below, 0.8 mm long, 0.65–0.7 mm wide, slightly wider than the ultimate segment on which it is borne; margins entire; receptacle included.
