Characteristics

Rhizome filiform, sparsely covered with red-brown hairs, glabrescent. Fronds 1–6 cm long. Stipe wiry, 4–30 mm long, with an almost imperceptible wing towards the apex. Lamina broadly ovate or rhomboidal, 1-or 2-pinnatifid, 0.7–3 cm long, 0.5–2 cm wide, glabrous; rachis usually winged between the lowermost pairs of primary pinnae; ultimate segments linear, 1.3–2 mm wide, toothed; veins black, forked once in each segment, not reaching the margin, with occasional dark red simple hairs. Sori terminal on segments near the apex of the frond or on lateral segments of pinnae below apex; involucre ± round to oblong, bilabiate, divided to the middle or almost to the base, 1.5–3 mm long, 0.9–3 mm wide; base broadly cuneate to truncate, not or slightly immersed, apical margins minutely spinulose-dentate to distinctly toothed; receptacle included.
