Erect to decumbent suffrutex, 0.4(0.6) m high; rootstock woody, many-stemmed, herbaceous or becoming woody, angular, sparsely to densely appressed hyaline strigose. Stipules 1-3 mm long, subulate-setaceous. Leaves pinnately (3)5-9(11)-foliolate, rachis 1-11(13) mm long; petioles 0.5-2.0 mm. Terminal leaflet (2)3-16 x 0.7-2.5(3.0) mm, linear-oblong to narrowly elliptic, apex acute to rounded; paler green and glabrous or sparsely strigose above, sparsely strigose beneath. Inflorescences of 25-150 mm long, ± densely (5)10-70-flowered racemes, relatively sparse in number (± 1-3) per branch; peduncle 18-80(100) mm long; pedicels 3-9 mm long. Flowers 10-15 mm long, crimson-red; calyx 2-4 mm long, densely appressed dark brown to ferruginous-strigose, lobes triangular to lanceolate, ± equalling to 1.5x tube length; standard dorsal surface densely ferruginous to dark brown strigose or subtomentose; keel apex obtuse. Stamens 9-14 mm long. Flowering time July.-Mar. Pod 20-42 x 2.5-3.0 mm.
