Softly woody shrub up to 3 m. tall much resembling I. emarginella.. The stems seem usually to persist, not dying back to ground level annually.. Leaflets 9–19, up to 18 mm. long and 10 mm. wide, usually more densely strigulose-pubescent than those of I. emarginella.. Racemes usually longer than the subtending leaf, with a peduncle of 3–4 cm.. Calyx-lobes distinctly pointed, the lower ones at least usually as long as the tube.. Standard somewhat persistent.. Stamens 3–6 mm. long.. Pod up to 35 mm. long, strigulose with brownish or brownish and white hairs, ± 10-seeded; endocarp strongly spotted.
