Male flowers with 6 sepals, the 3 outer elongate to elliptic, the 3 inner obovate; petals 6, somewhat concave, mostly abruptly bent inwards at the apex and with their margins incurved and enveloping the androcium; stamens 6, free or connate; anthers introrse, globular; thecae with transverse dehiscence.
Drupelets ovoid or subovoid, exocarp strigose-hispid or setulose; endocarp ovoid, flattened, the ventral side more or less smooth, the dorsal side clothed with numerous fibrillose hfirs.
Female flowers with sepals and petals more or less similar to those of the male; staminodes 6, tongue-shaped.
