Leaf-blade deeply 3–5-palmatipartite, the median lobe oblanceolate, 6–9.5 cm. long, 1.5–3 cm. wide, the laterals progressively smaller, subacute, attentuate at the base, the blade cuneate or rounded, irregularly glandular-denticulate, the glands stipitate, with 8–12 pairs of lateral nerves per lobe, densely pubescent above and beneath at first, later sparingly so; petiole 1.5–3 cm. long, pubescent.. Stipules broadly pedate-laciniate, 5 mm. long, 9 mm. wide, the segments filiform, gland-tipped.. Inflorescences terminal, corymbiform, 5–8 cm. long; axis pubescent; bracts linear-lanceolate, 5–10 mm. long, the margins beset with stipitate glands, pubescent.. Male flowers: calyx-lobes elliptic, 3 mm. long, 1.5 mm. wide, acute or subacute, pubescent without, glabrous within; petals free, obovate, 4 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, obtuse, sparingly pubescent or subglabrous without, glabrous within, brownish; disc-glands free, erect, thick, rounded; stamens 8, the 5 outer united for two-thirds their length, with the filaments 2 mm. long, the 3 inner united for three-quarters their length, with the filaments 2.5 mm. long, anthers ovoid, ± 1 mm. long.. Female flowers: calyx-lobes, petals and disc-glands ± as in ♂, but slightly larger (e.g. petals 5 mm. long, 2.5 mm. wide); ovary subtrilobed, 4 mm. long, 4 mm. wide, pubescent; styles ± free, 2 mm. long, stigmas capitate, bilobed.. Fruit trilobed, 1 cm. long, 1 cm. diameter, sparingly pubescent at first, later glabrescent, green, dehiscing septicidally.. Seeds ellipsoid-oblong, 8 mm. long, 4 mm. wide, pale grey, shiny, with a patelliform, fimbriate caruncle completely capping the hilar end.
