A lateral-bearing walnut with red seedcoat. Origin: University of California, Davis by G. McGranahan, C. Leslie, and H. Phillips. UC86-11 × Howard; crossed 1991; selected 1998; tested as UC91-75-15. USPP 12,264; 11 Dec. 2001. Nut: 14.1 g; well-filled; 50% kernel by weight; shell and seal strong; kernels plump, easily removed as halves; pellicles uniformly bright red. Tree: bears terminally and laterally; precocious; protandrous; yield moderate; ripens mid-to late-season 7-10 d before Chandler. Fruit:
