Shrub or tree to 8 m, with spreading bushy crown; bark grey, fissured; bark of branchlets fawn to reddish brown becoming silvery grey, newest extension growth dark crimson, puberulous; branchlets often almost at right-angles to main axis, sometimes 3–4 radiating from one node.. The fruit are narrowly oval and pink. They are 10-12 mm long by 6-8 mm wide. They are four angled.
