Succulent herb; stems succulent, prostrate and rooting at the nodes, the flowering branches to 30 cm high, densely shortly pubescent.. Leaves succulent, oblanceolate or oblanceolate-spatulate, 2–4.4 cm long, 0.6–2 cm wide, attenuate into basally slightly expanded petioloid base, apex acute or subacute, apiculate, densely shortly pubescent.. Capitula discoid, solitary, erect; peduncle 9–20 cm high, glabrous; involucre cylindrical, 15–21 mm long, 12–20 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 2–4, linear, lax, 3–6 mm long, shortly pubescent towards apex; phyllaries 13, 15–21 mm long, slightly striate.. Ray florets absent; disc florets orange to red; corolla 14–18.5 mm long, tube glabrous, slightly expanded in upper half, lobes 1.2–1.5 mm long.. Achenes 4.5 mm long, glabrous; pappus 12–19.5 mm long in flower, 35 mm long in fruit.
