Suffrutex or shrublet 0.6–1.2 m. high; stems arising from a woody rootstock, cylindric, densely fulvous to greyish stellate-tomentose but later glabrescent.. Leaves 1-foliolate; petiole 2–5 cm. long, subterete, shallowly furrowed above, ferrugineus tomentose; lamina ovate to broadly elliptic, 6–19.5 cm. long, 3.5–15 cm. broad, rounded to almost emarginate at the apex, truncate to cordate at the base, margin entire or undulate, subcoriaceous, at first subconcolorous (softly and densely fulvous stellate-tomentose on both surfaces), then discolorous (dark green with somewhat dense dull yellow stellate hairs above and fulvous to whitish tomentose beneath), finally glabrous or almost so above and whitish yellow to greyish tomentose beneath; midrib, lateral and tertiary nerves impressed above, raised but covered by the tomentum beneath as is also the reticulation.. Inflorescences unbranched spike-like panicles 1.5–7.5 cm. long, arising with the leaves, axillary and solitary, with tomentose axis; flowers fasciculate and nearly sessile.. Calyx-segments ovate, 0.9–1.1 mm. long, 0.8–1 mm. broad, with stellate hairs outside.. Petals oblong-ovate, contracted at the base, 2.5–3 mm. long, 1–1.3 mm. broad, greenish cream.. Drupe oblong-ovoid, compressed, 9–11 mm. long, 7–8 mm. in diameter, glabrous.
