Characteristics

Perennial herb to 30 cm high, erect, intricately branched, the smaller branches spinescent, hairy. Basal leaves bipinnatifid, to 12 cm long. Cauline leaves reducing, subulate to lanceolate, denticulate to entire, sessile, auriculate. Inflorescence a raceme terminating in a spine. Sepals c. 0.75 mm long. Petals reduced, linear. Stamens 2, median. Stigma subsessile. Silicula dehiscent, ovate to slightly obovate, c. 4 mm long, c. 2.5 mm wide; wing slight in upper half, forming small apical notch; pedicels c. 4 mm long, spreading, puberulous. Seeds 1.5–1.8 mm long; radicle incumbent.
