Characteristics

Perennial woody herb or shrub to 50 cm high, papillose; stems zigzag. Leaves linear, up to 4 cm long and 2 mm wide, papillose. Inflorescence a dense, terminal raceme. Sepals c. 4 mm long. Petals c. 6 mm long, pseudo-tubular with cucullate base and attenuate apex, white. Stamens 6. Style 2–2.5 mm long, markedly exserted in fruit. Silicula dehiscent, broadly elliptic to subcircular, 5–5.5 mm long, 4–4.5 mm wide, winged, sparsely papillose, especially on the wings; wings obtuse to ± acute, forming a notch c. one-eight the length of the silicula; pedicels spreading, to 8 mm long. Seeds ± elliptic, 2.3–2.6 mm long, 2–2.5 mm wide, strongly mucose; cotyledons incumbent.
