Characteristics

Perennial shrub to 30, occasionally 90, cm high, glabrous. Leaves very variable between plants; juvenile leaves bipinnatifid; cauline leaves pinnately lobed to remotely dentate to entire, thick to leathery, 0.5–4 cm long, the base attenuate, sessile or auriculate. Inflorescence a terminal corymbose raceme, elongating at maturity. Sepals 1.5 mm long, hairy. Petals variable from clawed with ovate lamina longer than sepals to narrow and shorter than sepals. Stamens 6, rarely 5. Style approximately equal to notch depth. Silicula dehiscent, elliptic to somewhat rhomboidal, 4.5–6 mm long, 3–3.5 mm wide; wing narrow, forming narrow notch; pedicels 4–6 mm long, sometimes papillose on adaxial surface, spreading. Seeds 1.75 mm long; radicle incumbent.
