Characteristics

Perennial shrub to 60 cm high; stems straggling to erect, with papillose ridges. Leaves lanceolate, acute, to 50 mm long and 8 mm wide, attenuate at base, almost sessile, erect to spreading; midrib prominent below; margins papillose. Inflorescence a raceme. Sepals to 5 mm long. Petals obovate, to 8 mm long, clawed, cucullate at base, white to pink. Stamens 6. Style to 2 mm long, rarely exceeding notch. Silicula dehiscent, lyre-shaped, 8–13 mm long, 5–8 mm wide; wing acute, forming broad notch c. ¼ length of fruit; pedicels to 8 mm long, spreading. Seeds 2.5–3.5 mm long; cotyledons diplecolobous.
