Characteristics

Annual herb 15–20 cm high, erect, glabrous to scabrous with small tubercules. Leaves narrowly linear, 1.5–5, occasionally to 10, cm long, pinnatisect to entire. Inflorescence an elongating raceme. Sepals to 1 mm long. Petals rudimentary to absent. Stamens 4, median; filaments dilated and contiguous at base. Stigma sessile with lateral projections of style extending slightly beyond it. Silicula dehiscent, broadly ovate to circular, 4.5–5.5 mm long, 4–4.5 mm wide, glabrous; wings uniform around silicula, narrowly extended beyond notch, sometimes overlapping, acute; notch narrow; pedicels 2–3 mm long, spreading, flattened. Seeds c. 2 mm long; radicle incumbent.
