Characteristics

Annual or perennial herb to 60 (–150) cm high, erect, glabrous. Leaves very variable between plants from narrowly linear, 10–20 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, to broadly lanceolate, to 90 mm long and 15 mm wide, pinnate to serrate to entire, the base attenuate, marginal hairs acute, ciliiform or absent. lnflorescence an elongated raceme. Sepals c. 0.75 mm long. Petals up to 0.8 mm long or absent. Stamens 2, median. Stigma subsessile to sessile. Silicula elliptic to ovate, 3–3.5 mm long, 2–2.5 mm wide; wing slight in upper half, forming very shallow open notch; pedicels longer than silicula, glabrous, terete. Seeds c. 1.5 mm long; radicle incumbent.
