Characteristics

Perennial small shrub, regenerating from rootstock; stems erect, 10–15 (–30) cm high, papillose, usually corky at base and leaf scars. Leaves oblanceolate to linear-lanceolate, up to 30 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, entire, the base attenuate. Inflorescence an elongating raceme. Sepals 2.5–3 mm long. Petals broadly obtuse, 2.5–4 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide, clawed, white to pink with brighter venation. Stamens 6. Style length variable, always included at maturity. Silicula orbicular to broadly obovate, 5–8 mm diam., glabrous to papillose; wing broad and round, ⅓ fruit length, forming deep apical notch; septum wide, valves inflated. Seeds 2 mm long, 1.2–1.5 mm wide; radicle incumbent.
