Characteristics

Perennial shrub to 1.5 m high; stems becoming spinescent; hairs obtuse. Leaves narrowly obovate to linear, obtuse, up to 10 mm long and 2 mm wide, sparsely hairy, clustered, succulent. Inflorescence a short raceme. Sepals to 3.5 mm long. Petals attenuate, 4–5 mm long, cucullate at base, white. Stamens 6. Style 2.5–3 mm long, markedly exserted in fruit. Silicula dehiscent, elliptic to ovate, 6.5–7 mm long, 4.5–5 mm wide, winged, sparsely papillose, especially on the wings; wings narrow, forming a very shallow notch; pedicels spreading. Seeds 3.3–3.7 mm long, 1.7–2.5 mm wide, strongly mucose; cotyledons incumbent, tending to become biplicate.
