Dwarf shrub with annual shoots, 0.10-0.45 m high; stems erect or decumbent. Leaves linear to obovate-lanceolate, up to 45 mm long. Inflorescences in terminal and axillary clusters, crowded, compactly flowered. Flowers sessile or with pedicels up to 1.5 mm long, small. Perianth segments 5, broadly ovate, membranous, white with green keel. Stamens (5)7; filaments broadened and fimbriate below. Flowering time Oct.-May. Mericarps with outer surface shortly tuberculate.

Stunted, woody shrublet with annual shoots, up to 400 mm tall. Leaves alternate to subopposite, oblong to elliptic, margins revolute. Flowers in terminal and axillary umbel-like clusters on erect peduncles, white with green keel, pedicels ± 2 mm long. Mericarp never winged, ± hemispherical, surface honeycomb-like.

Staminodes 0–5, shorter than the perianth-segments, evanescent, with long claw and ovate limb.
Inflorescences mostly terminal, 15–100-flowered, umbelliform, pedunculate.
