Stunted, woody shrublet with annual shoots, up to 400 mm tall. Leaves alternate to subopposite, oblong to elliptic, margins revolute. Flowers in terminal and axillary umbel-like clusters on erect peduncles, white with green keel, pedicels ± 2 mm long. Mericarp never winged, ± hemispherical, surface honeycomb-like.
Leaves sessile to shortly petiolate, alternate to subopposite; lamina 5–27 × 1–4 mm., linear to lanceolate or oblanceolate, entire, midrib prominent below; petiole up to 3 mm. long, enlarged at base.
Glabrous perennial herbs or subshrubs up to 40 cm. tall, woody at base, developing herbaceous shoots; stems erect or ascendent, sparingly branched, striate, minutely scaberulous or smooth.

Flowers whitish, small, with pedicels up to 2 mm. long and membranous whitish lanceolate bracteoles.
Staminodes 0–5, shorter than the perianth-segments, evanescent, with long claw and ovate limb.
Inflorescences mostly terminal, 15–100-flowered, umbelliform, pedunculate.
Stamens (5)7, with filaments much broadened and fimbriate below.
Ovary 2-lobed, glabrous.
