Stem herbaceous or slightly woody, erect, branched and hirsute with patent hairs above, 450 mm [as '1 1/2 ft.'] high; leaves lanceolate, hirsute on both sides, the lower rather obtuse at the apex and long attenuate at the base, the upper rather acute, 62.5 mm [as '2 1/2 in.'] long, 8 mm [as '4 lin.'] broad; racemes terminal, often geminate, short; bracts leafy; calyx irregular, about 4.2 mm [as '2 lin.'] long, densely hirsute; lobes oblong, obtuse; corolla white; tube cylindrical, nearly twice as long as the calyx; lobes 3 mm [as '1 1/2 lin.'] Iong, ovate-rotundate; anthers oblong, 1 mm [as '1/2 lin.'] long, inserted near the corolla-mouth; style subulate; nutlets unknown.
