Characteristics

Prostrate annual, branches 0.1-0.2 m long. Leaves trifoliolate, basal ones often unifoliolate. Leaflets obovate to suborbicular, sparsely but conspicuously strigillose. Stipules solitary, widely ovate. Inflorescences umbellate on short peduncles. Flowers up to 4, yellow, pink or white, 8-9 mm long when open during pollination (occasionally cleistogamous); pedicels shorter than calyx. Calyx with lower lobe much narrower than upper four. Petals: standard ovate or oblong; keel dark purple at tip. Flowering time Sept.-Dec. Pod oblong to oblong-linear, slightly turgid.
