Characteristics

Perennial herb, up to 1 m high; slender, suberect or diffuse; stems silky. Leaves trifoliolate with solitary stipules; leaflets narrowly ovate, apex acute. Flowers: inflorescences invariably 1-flowered, opposite leaves; bracteoles 0; calyx deeply divided, silky, its lobes subequal; keel obtuse or rounded, glabrous; corolla yellow, never blue; Nov.-Feb. Pods hairy, turgid, twice as long as calyx.
