Characteristics

Shrub, up to 2.4 m high; covered with silky, white, closely appressed hairs. Leaves trifoliolate; leaflets small, cuneate or linear; stipules single or, if rarely paired, then 2 of each pair markedly dissimilar, upper surface of leaflets densely sericeous, surface of blade not visible. Flowers: solitary; bracteoles 0; calyx with lateral and upper lobes on either side close together, forming a pair on either side of calyx; keel obtuse or rounded, glabrous; corolla purplish blue and yellow; Dec.-Mar. Pods sessile, oblong, only slightly inflated.
