Characteristics

Annual herb, up to 200 mm high; procumbent; branches distinctly brittle. Leaves trifoliolate, basal leaves alternate. Flowers: single; bracteoles 0; calyx lobes valvate; keel distinctly beaked; corolla yellow and white; Mar.-May. Pods short and ovate, scarcely longer than calyx, circular in transverse section, much inflated, with neatly orientated strigillose hairs; seeds > 15 per pod, on exceptionally long funicles.
