Leaflets 7–9, 2.5–7 × 0.5–1.5 cm, oblanceolate to narrowly oblong-elliptic, pointed or rounded at the apex, usually pilose on both surfaces; petiole 7–16 cm long; stipules 1–3 cm long, the free part linear-subulate.

Racemes up to 15–50 cm long, with many ± verticillate flowers; bracts up to 20 mm long, linear-caudate to lanceolate-caudate; pedicels 3–6 mm long.
Pod 2.5–4 × 0.5–0.8 cm, narrowly oblong, with a straight beak, villous, with rather thin valves impressed between the 3–6 rather small seeds.
Standard subcircular, mostly blue or pink, glabrous; wings ± as long as the keel; keel 1.2–1.4 cm long, narrowly beaked.
Calyx (8)10–12 mm long, tomentose; upper lip bifid; lower lobe entire to minutely 3-fid.
Stem villous with very long spreading hairs over a denser pubescence.
