Characteristics

An apparently annual, or sometimes perennial, climbing or trailing herb up to 0·7 m. long.. Stems covered with fairly long soft hairs.. Leaflets 3, elliptic, the laterals somewhat oblique, 2–6·8 cm. long, 0·7–4·5 cm. wide, acute or acuminate at the apex, cuneate and narrowly to broadly rounded at the base, thin, adpressed pubescent to shortly pilose on both surfaces; petiole 1–6·4 cm. long; rhachis 4–10 mm. long; petiolules ±2 mm. long; stipules lanceolate-triangular, 5–9 mm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, nerved.. Flowers axillary, solitary or 2–3 in fascicles; pedicels 1·5–3 mm. long; bracts 2 mm. long; bracteoles persistent, linear, 3–6 mm. long.. Calyx pubescent; tube 1·5–2 mm. long; lobes filiform, 5–10 mm. long, the upper pair joined for ± two-thirds to almost their entire length.. Standard greenish-yellow or cream, usually with a mauve mark inside, oblong-obovate, 0·9–1·6 cm. long, 6–9 mm. wide, emarginate; wings and keel narrow, cream or pale yellow-green.. Pods linear-oblong, straight or slightly curved, 2·5–4·5 cm. long, 6–8 mm. wide, flattened, beaked, rather laxly covered with long white hairs..
