Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets 1.6–5.5 × 0.5–2.2 cm, narrowly elliptic, rounded to subacute at the apex, apiculate, pubescent on upper surface, densely silvery appressed pilose beneath, hence appearing paler beneath; petiole 1.2–5.8 cm long; rhachis 1–3 mm long; petiolules 1–3 mm long; stipules 5–10 mm long, oblong, ovate or lanceolate, striate; stipels 1–2 mm long, filiform.
Flowers axillary, solitary, in pairs or in 2–4-flowered fascicles; pedicels 2–4 mm long; bracts 1–2 mm long; bracteoles 2–3 mm long.
Calyx pubescent; tube 2–4 mm long; lobes 2–4 mm long, triangular, the upper pair fused along almost all of their length.
Standard yellow, 12–20 × 8–10 mm, elliptic to broadly elliptic; wings 12–18 × 2–3 mm; keel 12–18 × 3–5 mm.
Seeds reddish-brown, 5 × 2 × 1 mm; hilum white, linear, subcentral.
Pods 5.2–7 cm × 4–6 mm, linear, compressed, glabrous, 6–8-seeded.
Erect herb up to 50 cm tall, from a perennial woody rootstock.
Stems annual, spreading pubescent.
Ovary 7–8 mm long.
