Evergreen shrub or small tree up to 5 m. tall.. Young branches glabrous or sometimes densely puberulous.. Leaves petiolate, simple or 3-foliolate; blade elliptic to obovate-elliptic, 6.5–15 cm. long, 2.5–6.5 cm. wide, acutely acuminate to obtuse, leathery, glabrous or puberulous on the nerves beneath; nervation finely reticulate and the midrib very prominent beneath; petiole up to 10 cm. long, but often very much shorter.. Inflorescence an elegant, densely corymbose, terminal raceme; pedicels ± 2 cm. long in flower, up to 6 cm. in fruit, glabrous or sparsely puberulous.. Sepals 7–11 mm. long, glabrous; receptacle short, 1.5–2 mm. long.. Petals ± 15 mm. long, white or tinged with green.. Stamens ± 80; filaments ± 2 cm. long, white with an indigo base.. Ovary subspheroid, glabrous.. Fruits pendulous, spheroid, up to 2 cm. in diameter; pericarp smooth, green and pruinose, glabrous.

Ovary on a gynophore c. 3.5 cm. long, ovoid-globose; ovules 4 on 2 placentas; style 0.5 mm. long; stigma capitate.
Receptacle 1.5 mm. tall, 1.5 mm. wide at the mouth, funnel-shaped, inner margin thickened and slightly undulate.
Stamens c. 60; filaments c. 3 cm., long; anthers 1.5 x 0.75 mm., broadly oblong.
Dense shrub 2–4 m. high with glabrous, sulcate branchlets.
Petals c. 1.6 x 0.5 cm., oblanceolate, apex acuminate.
Androgynophore slightly exserted from the receptacle.
