Leaves petiolate, simple; blade elliptic-lanceolate to broadly elliptic-oblong, 4–7 cm. long, 3–4 cm. wide, somewhat obtuse to slightly emarginate at the apex, broadly cuneate or rounded at the base, slightly fleshy when mature, with scarcely prominent veins; petiole up to 6 mm. long.. Inflorescence a short terminal raceme, usually with other flowers solitary in the upper leaf-axils; pedicels 10–15 mm. long.. Sepals lanceolate, 22–27 mm. long, acute or acuminate, white tomentellous along the margins, otherwise glabrous; receptacle cylindrical, 11–15 mm. long; disk with a very short free rim.. Petals obovate, up to 9 mm. long, green, sometimes absent.. Filaments rather variable in number, 25–60, about 3 cm. long, cream or white; anthers 3–4 mm. long.. Gynophore ± 2.3 cm. long in flower, up to 3 cm. in fruit; ovary cylindrical, ± 6 mm. long, glabrous..
