Scrambling twiggy shrub with twisted and tangled branches, up to 2 m. tall, glabrous except for the margin of the sepals.. Twigs arising at a very wide angle, often at right angles.. Leaves disposed in fascicles along the twigs, shortly petiolate; blade simple, obcuneate, up to 17 mm. long, 4 mm.wide, apically truncately rounded, commonly emarginate, leathery, with the midrib strongly depressed; petiole 1–1.5 mm. long.. Inflorescence of solitary or 2–3 fascicled flowers in the axils of the clustered leaves; pedicels 2–4 mm. long.. Sepals 4–4.5 mm. long with a tomentellous margin; receptacle ± 3 mm. long; disk with a free, shallowly laciniate rim.. Petals suborbicular, ± 2.5 mm. long, white turning dull yellow.. Stamens 7–10; filaments 7–8 mm. long, greenish-yellow.. Ovary ovoid.. Fruits spherical or irregularly subellipsoid, about 13 mm. long, minutely verruculose, otherwise smooth.
